Boris Kodjoe Snags Lead Role in New NBC series, Undercovers
Boris Kodjoe has been announced as the lead male actor (Steven) in the new NBC JJ Abrams spy drama husband-and-wife series, Undercovers.
If the show makes it onto the network, Boris would become of the handful of black (well Boris is Austrian/Ghanaian/German) actors with a lead role on a network series. Undercovers’ plot has drawn inspiration from Mr. & Mrs. Smith AND The Bourne Identity. (Interesting plot!)
The role of Boris’ on screen wife (Samantha) hasn’t been cast but the pair would work together as spies. Hmm…here are my top five picks for Boris’ on-screen wife.
Eva Mendes, Kerry Washington, Nicole Ari Parker, Anika Noni Rose, Sanaa Lathan and Lucy Liu all proved that they can hold their own in a thriller/action packed roles. Anika was last seen in the No.1 Ladies Detective Agency. Kerry appeared in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Lucy appeared in Charlie’s Angels franchise. Lastly Sanaa and Eva proved leading lady quality when they both acted opposite Denzel Washington. Simply put, each actress is capable of holding their own opposite Boris. Regardless I am curious to see who gets cast as his wife.
Boris celebrated his good news with his fans on his Twitter page ….
Thank you Twitter Family for the wishes about ‘Undercovers’. JJ Abrams is a great man with great vision and great humor. I’m very excited.
Speaking of Boris’ Twitter, check out this Twitpic he posted of his family (wife Nicole Ari Parker, son Nicolas, and daughter Sophie) dressed up for Halloween…
Too cute!
