Angela and Vanessa Simmons of the popular urban womenswear sneaker collection Pastry are on the Janaury/February 2011 cover of Fashizblack magazine. (Previous Fashizblack cover girl was R&B songbird Solange Knowles.) The Simmons siblings discuss how they juggle family, life on and off the red carpet and their business ethnics to Fashizblack editorial team. Fashizblack is a popular online French magazine based in Paris which caters to all things African fashion! Great to see the Simmons supporting this publication!

For the photo shoot Rev. Run’s daughters (re: Hip-Hop’s first daughters) wore pieces from Genevieve Jones, Ruthie Davis, Kiki De Montparnasse, Rebecca Taylor, American Apparel and Jean Paul Gaultier. Angela wore a pair of color-block Ruthie Davis “Vamp” platforms from the Fall 2010 collection for the photo shoot. Vanessa wore a white dress from South African-born designer and former The Fashion Show contestant Daniella Kallmeyer. Vanessa picked this white bold-shoulder dress with a skinny black belt cinched at the waist from Daniella Kallmeyer Spring 2011 collection. Daniella tweeted back in December that video vixen Amber Rose’s a fan of her collection and jewelry line. By the way South African designers are turning up on the red carpet thanks to Kourtney Kardashian’s Gert-Johan Coetzee strapless dress at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards. Great to see African fashion designers getting support from Hollywood!
