Naima Adedapo Opens Up About Her Family on American Idol
For her March 16th performance American Idol’s Season 10 finalist Naima Adedapo performed the hit Tina Tuner song, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” to reflect the week’s theme of performing songs in your birth year. In Naima’s case she was born on October 5, 1984. Naima worked with costume designer Soyon An to pull off her funky performance outfit. And I quote Soyon: We picked this because we wanted to keep the funky cool edge of Naima and make it a little rock in roll. She loves color!” Completely agreed!

American Idol Season 10 judges Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez didn’t like her ‘pitchy‘ vocals. I however thought she did a great job! Naima worked with producer Rodney Jerkins to remake Tina’s mega hit. Purchase Naima’s What’s Love Got To Do With It single over on iTunes. From the video American Idol viewers get to learn Naima’s birthdate (October 5, 1984), see family photos, hear from her jazz vocalist mother Adekola Adedapo who inspired her African collection from, see her interact with her two daughters and listen to cute childhood stories from her dad Songodina Ifatunji.
