Wale At The 2009 NYC Nigeria Day Parade

October 5, 2009

Many Nigerians from within and outside the tri-state area came out on 2nd Avenue between 54th and 44th Streets to celebrate Nigeria’s 49th year of Independence from British rule.

After the parade and during the street festival, Wale performed a two-song set including this remake – “My Sweetie.” The Washington DC native from Yoruba showed a lot of love for the crowd by throwing out copies of his mixtape album to the crowd. (No signs of Solange, thought! :P)

Wale took to his Twitter page to let everyone who didn’t make out in the rainy day celebration about his thoughts. He made a guest appearance at the official post-parade celebration at Club Blvd down on Bowery Street in Manhattan.
