FG2BH Flicks: Thandie Newton & Kids + Iman at Keep A Child Alive 2009 Benefit

October 16, 2009

Thandie Newton bought along her daughters Ripley, 9, and Nico, 5, (and that chic Chanel quilted clutch, I must add) to the Times BFI London Film Festival for the premiere of Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The British-Zimbabwean actress has been busy making red carpet gigs at the 2009 London Fashion Week where she supported the Spring/Summer 2010 runway show of her favorite label Jonathan Saunders and she was later on seen at the Unique private dinner with Christian Louboutin, himself. It’s easy to see how her effortless style made FG2BH Best Dressed Pick in 2008.

Doesn’t Iman look absolutely stunning for her red carpet arrival at the 2009 Keep A Child Alive Annual Benefit. (Check out her last year’s camera ready look.) The trendsetting fashion icon also served as the global ambassador for the non-profit charity organization.

As you can tell from the photos, Nigeria’s own fashion pick ARISE magazine served as a high-ranking sponser. Also at the 6th Annual Keep A Child Alive Black Ball  were Usher, Robin ThickePaula Patton, Mary J Blige, Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, and Top Chief host Padma Lakshmi. The event kicked off at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

Giving back is something Iman is quite fond of. Iman also spoke with fellow Somalian model Ubah Hassan (Ralph Lauren’s well-paid muse) for New York magazine’s Off The Runway series  about how the Obama effect is placed on the fashion world. I love that Iman is giving advice to the upcoming models that she helped paved the way for.
