President Barack Obama Accepts 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Award

December 11, 2009

President Barack Obama alongside his wife First Lady Michelle Obama accepted his Nobel Peace Prize Award on Thursday in Oslo, Norway. The Obamas reasonably so left behind their children Malia and Sasha home at the White House because it’s a school day. (They simply can’t miss out on school just because their Dad’s POTUS! šŸ˜› ) Barack’s sister Maya Soetoro-Ng and brother in law were presented at the historic event.

I absolutely love how Michelle check Barack over and adjusted his suit before the award ceremony! Celebrities such as Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith and Wycelf Jean flew out to Norway to support the President. The Smith family (including son Jaden and daughter Willow) performed Michael Jackson’s hit song, Man in The Mirror.

UPDATE (12/16): The Smiths interview Barack about his historic win and how his wife Michelle bought peace to him. I can totally see the resemblance between Barack and Will now but Barack’s way more better looking. šŸ˜› Both interviews were showed during the Nobel Peace Prize concert.Kudos to Jada’s hairstylist! <- I just got an idea for a NYE 'do!)

Outside of the frenzy of what Michelle wore to the award ceremony (which was a green chartreuse dress by Calvin Klein and a snug-fit Nina Ricci cardigan PLUS she wore Alaia for the banquet), all were eager to listen to Barack’s acceptance speech. The speech was 36 minutes in length but thank goodness to YouTube here it is…

President Obama received a medal, diploma and a $1.4 million cash prize which he’ll donate to charity. The Huffington Post has MORE photos and videos. (Random thought: Did you know that Michelle repeated an outfit for her Norway visit? That’s how fly she is!)

Iam so proud of President Obama…He deserves only the very best,he earned that with his civility in governing and the way he approach this world with it’s complexity and evilness, this President has class indeed.I will announce it once again:
