Sade’s Ebony Magazine April 2010 Cover Feature

March 2, 2010

With her hair side swept over her eye as it was in her “King of Sorrow” video, Sade appeared solo on the April 2010 cover feature of Ebony magazine. The Nigerian-born/UK resident smooth jazz singer discussed her private life with 13-year-old daughter Ila Adu, her 10-year music hiatus and her current #1 album Soldier of Love. Ila Adu joined her photogenic mother on the track, Babyfather. The Ebony magazine with the fabulous Sade feature would be on newsstands on March 9th! (Props Entertainment Rundown!)

Sade on her hiatus: “I’ve had my ups and downs in the years between these albums, said Sade. “That’s partly why I’m able to write songs that people in some way can hear. I express feelings, real feelings.”

Soldier of Love, according to Billboard, sits on top of the music charts for the second consecutive week with 694,000 units sold! The album(which is #1 in 14 countries) has charted #1 R&B/Hip-Hop Album, #1 Digital Album, #1 European Album, #1 Canadian Album, and #1 Billboard 200. This goes to prove that fans enjoy Sade’s  music long after the 2000 release of Lovers Rock. Anyone else hoping for a Sade/Maxwell/Jill Scott tour as I am?? Check out this fab Twitpic of Sade with Sherri Shepherd when she appeared on “The View.” Right underneath the Twitpic is a must-see clip of Sade’s Soldier of Love performance on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross in the UK.
