The long running urban publication placed Idris, who was born to parents from Ghana and Sierre Leone, on their “Redefining Sexy” issue and truth be told they sure did a great job with their pick!

IDRIS ON HIS PERSONALITY: “Sarcasm is a part of English culture and I find myself drawn to people who are sarcastic and not only can laugh at themselves but make people laugh. I’m very goofy, very silly and very tongue-in-cheek,” he said.

Next up for Idris is breaking color barriers down in his multi-raced cast in his new BBC One produced TV series, Luther. Idris in the past opened up about bringing more diversity to British TV in a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter. Hopefully his upcoming projects in film (Legacy) and TV (The Office) would push his agenda.

“If you look at American television, it is nothing to see a cast that is multi-racial. So we shouldn’t shy away from demanding more diversity on British TV. Only because it reflects the culture we live in,” said the English actor, who also guest-starred as a no-nonsense corporate VP on the U.S. version of “The Office.”

“Diversity was one of the first things I asked about as a producer,” Elba said “How many other races are we going to see? Because it would be very odd if Luther was the only black person in the series … So we see many different ethnic groups on screen. That is important to me and one of the reasons I wanted to do it.”

I’m definitely going out this weekend to see his new film co-starring Zoe Saldana!
