Boris Kodjoe Out On The Town

October 16, 2010

Boris Kodjoe, star of the hit NBC series Undercovers, and wife Nicole Ari Parker looked quite smashing at several events in the greater Los Angeles area. They were even seen at one event in Nicole’s honor! The Kodjoes went for a black-tie look at the 32nd Edition Of An Evening Of Stars With A Trbute To Chaka Khan. They were then spotted in bronze and pink at the Women Empowering Women Symposium Honoring Kristin Davis and Nicole Ari.

Women Empowering Women Symposium Honoring Kristin Davis and Nicole Ari. Love the fact that Boris rock a pink shirt. Confidence! No doubt Boris made sure to plug his custom-made tuxedos from his clothing line Alfa and Nicole rock a confident smile. You would too if you had Boris on your arm. 😛 On a serious note, the event honored Nicole for her effects increasing Spina Bifida awareness – a cause close to her and her husband. Their first child, daughter Sophie has this medical birth condition and they have since launched a non-profit organization, Sophie’s Voice, in her name.

Meanwhile Boris and his Undercovers co-star GuGu Mbatha-Raw shared a cover feature for the latest newsstand edition of JET magazine. The long-running urban publication named the duo – “TV’s Hottest Couple.” Gotta love it!

And while we’re on all things Boris, don’t blame those pesky IRS rumors nor the cancellations gist. It’s all nothing but a rumor as he cleared up in a recent interview with BV Buzz journalist Jawn Murray.

Boris on the fate of Undercovers: We’re doing great,” he assured. “This year has been a weird year for new shows – there hasn’t been a runaway hit. It has to do with so many different things, from programming to budgets and the economy as a whole. The bottom line is, we have a great show and everyone who sees the show loves the show, which is great. Though many trade publications have reported that ‘Undercovers’ is underperforming, with its debut ratings of 8.7 million viewers, followed by a dip to 7.2 million in its second week, Kodjoe said that the network it pleased thus far. NBC and Warner Bros. love the show, and they’re supporting the show,” he offered. “Now we’re in a position to build and that’s where we want to be. We want to find our audience and keep our audience, and that’s what we’re doing. I’m beyond-the-moon excited about doing this. It’s literally the first time in a long time that two African Americans have been able to lead a one-hour drama on NBC. It’s been over 30 years! So to be in this position is just a tremendous honor, and I’m proud to be a part of it.” Jawn Murray/BV Buzz

In related news, Boris appeared on The Wendy Williams Show. Wendy and Boris talked about his show, his marriage, his kids and his co-star, Gugu.
