Gamu Nhengu at the 2010 MOBO Awards
Former X-Factor contestant and Internet sensation Gamu Nhengu attended the 2010 MOBO Awards last night in a black long-sleeve velvet snug-fit dress, black tights and leopard-print pumps. The 2010 MOBO Awards were held at Liverpool, England with celebrity guests such as Michelle Williams, Alesha Dixon, Jermaine Jackson, and Travis McCoy in attendance.
The Zimbabwean aspiring singer was all smiles on the MOBO Awards red carpet in spite of all the news reports on her deportation woes as reported on here earlier. Officials said that Gamu and her family would be sent back to their native homeland Zimbabwe from their current place of residence.
When asked if she had gotten over being rejected by Cheryl, she said: ‘Have I got over the pain? I guess so… It was gutting but the love I’ve got from people has definitely helped, definitely helped to heal the wound.’ Gamu is battling to stay in Britain after her mother Nokuthula Ngazana’s visa application for the whole family was rejected by the Home Office, who allege she claimed £16,000 in benefits she was not entitled to for Gamu and her brothers Milton, 12, and Marty, 10. When asked for an update on her visa issues, Gamu said: ‘It’s still a little up in the air we don’t know what’s happening and haven’t had any contact yet.’ DAILY MAIL UK
