Duro Olowu Fall 2011 Collection at NYFW

February 15, 2011

London-based, Nigerian-born designer Duro Olowu’s Fall 2011 collection was full of vibrant prints. Prints are not for a shy person nor a wallflower but a true trendsetter. Duro released 17 unique looks for his Fall 2011 presentation held at Milk Studios during New York Fashion Week. What I admire about Duro Olowu’s presentation were the models who represented the diversity in New York City.

His line was inspired by Brazil and by Mexican film actress María Félix. I can definitely picture his wife, museum curator Thelma Golden in these designs. His favorite pick from the line was this printed dress as you can see below. According to The Cut, this marks the first time Duro has presented his line during New York Fashion Week!
