Nigerian-American Annie Ilonzeh Becomes The First Black Charlie’s Angels Actress

March 17, 2011

Nigerian-American actress Annie Ilonzeh was seen on the Miami Beach, Florida set of her new ABC action/drama TV series, Charlie’s Angels alongside actresses Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor. What’s so special about Annie’s appearance on Charlie’s Angels is the fact that she’s the first African-American to do so!

Born in August 1983, Annie from Grapevine, Texas made her TV debut as Maya Ward on the long-running soap opera series, General Hospital. Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith were the original actresses in the first TV series in 1976! Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu were the movie counterparts. The 27-year-old will portray Kate, an ex-cop who is a martial arts master, reports Daily Mail UK.

I’m DEFINITELY going to be tuning into this show whenever it airs on ABC!
