Keisha Buchanan Wears Statement Necklace from Anita Quansah London

April 11, 2011

Keisha Buchanan attended Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief pop-up store launch event in this drool-worthy Anita Quansah London Samia Necklace. I love how Keisha made her statement piece do the talking for her red and black outfit. Gotta love those YSL platform pumps Keisha has on! Keisha has the first celebrity to wear the handmade neckpiece from Anita Quansah London’s upcoming collection.

I first learned about this half Ghanaian-half Nigerian, UK-based designer when I’m stumbled across her interview for Fashizblack Magazine March/April 2011 edition. She said she got her taste for  jewelry appreciation from the women in her family. She even did a jewelry collaboration with Nigerian fashion label, Jewel By Lisa.  She, a graduate of Chelsea College of Art and Design London,  also made a dress collection. Since ‘discovering’ her, I’ve been a fan of her work. Anita Quansah London run by Ghanaian fashion designer who creates statement jewelry using, as she eloquently put in her Facebook bio, “recycled and vintage materials with introduction of mixed metals, silver, gold, gunmetal and colorful elements such as pearls, beads, rhinestones, ribbon.” Her line is made exclusively in London. I’m definitely looking to see more of her designs on and off the red carpet.

Gotta love how celebrities are embracing African fashion designers.
