Naana B Presents Its Spring Summer 2011 Collection Via Sample Sale at GEORGIA

November 18, 2010

On Tuesday night (11/16) I attended the sample sale of Naana B’s womenwear and accessories Spring Summer 2011 collection at The Georgia Boutique in Soho. It’s one thing to view the collection online but to see it in person – I was blown away as I tweeted. My favorite style piece was the orange ’50s-inspired look that Nigerian supermodel Oluchi wore for her recent Flair West Africa cover feature and I was especially in love with the pyhton clutch as seen on Mya. The crowd was a mix of boutique lovers and fashion insiders who immediately snatched up Naana B’s dresses and clutches. Some even tried on her dresses before they made their purchase. Georgia provided hand massages for all attendees who snacked on food and wine. Naana B debut her collection as a thriving accessories line before she started her gorgerous line of Sika print ruffle dresses and jackets. True to her craft and heritage, Naana B collaborates with female seamtresses in Ghana to produce her handmade collection and the proceeds of all sales goes towards the Rural Communities Empowerment Centre in GhanaThe Georgia Boutique is the first store in the Big Apple to carry Naana B! I took photos of attendees trying on Naana B clothing as well as the Spring Summer 2011 womenswear and accessories collection. The price range at the sample sale was as low as $60! Enjoy the photo collages!

Jodie Patterson, the co-owner of Georgia, wore a Naana B tunic in support of the event. Georgia Boutique is run by the savvy businesswomen and sister-in-laws Kiara Ellozy and Jodie who has Ellen DeGeneres as a huge fan of their chic hair, skin, clothing, and spa treatments. Their unique SoHo storefront has appeared in notable publications such as Essence, Vogue, InStyle, More, Marie Claire, UpTown and O Oprah Winfrey magazine. Kiara also let me know that talent and the eye for business runs in the family through her musician brother was apart of the Ghana Music Festival held in Nigeria! At the event Kiara connected to the giving back gesture Naana B through their shared heritage. Like Naana B, Kiara’s paternal roots are from Ghana! I recommend each and every one of my FG2BH readers to go and scoop up Georgia’s Rosemary Shampoo and Conditioner – the scent alone is divine. The boutique is cater for women who appreciates a healthy natural relationship with her skin and hair!
