Miss Nigerian Independence 2010 Blow-Out Bash!

New York City recently celebrated Nigeria’s 50th Year of Independence of British rule via a 3-day blowout celebration in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. FG2BH’s own founder Miss Chi-Chi was on the scene to take exclusive photos from her Blackberry and Canon Cybershot camera. All photos were taken by Miss Chi-Chi excepted where credited!

On day two, FG2BH was there to capture cultural night’s Miss Nigerian Independence Beauty Pageant where Miss Delta Nkemakonam Ejoh won the coveted title. Celebrity judges included HBO The Wire actor Gbenga Akinnagbe, Miss Black USA 2010 Osas Ighodaro, Applause Magazine editors, Miss Nigerian Independence 2009 Feyisola Ogunfemi.

The next day the annual parade was held on 2nd Avenue between 44th and 54th Streets flooded with hundreds of Nigerians in attendence. Media outlets such as UnderDaRock, Big Moose Entertainment, OmoNaija Magazine,Ā 9jaTube, and Afrikanspot were all on hand to capture the jubliee! There Miss Nigerian Independence 2010 shared her win withĀ 1st runner-up Miss Edo and 2nd Runner-Up Miss Mbano.

Miss Edo on her Miss Nigerian Independence experience:Ā This weekend has been amazing O!I came into this Pageant as the oldest child in my household and left with 11 big sisters, I thank God. It was humbling to receive respect for my own people,especially bc I’m only 18. Like I told evryone who came 2 me GODS TIME IS BEST!This was a mini assignment,God said if youre faithful ovr little u will be trusted with much.The Nigerian Community will not be the same,Amen.Diddyy ou


Miss Mbano on her Miss Nigerian Independence experience:Ā ā€Ž2010. What a year so far. What’s next? I’m not sure, but I know I’ll be ready. I’ve got God in my corner. Send me a curve ball and I’ll knock it out of the park with my Faith.
