Boxing Kitten’s The New Celeb Trend

As seen on Beyonce, Solange, Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, and Fergie, the West African-inspired Ankara fabric collection BOXING KITTEN has quickly become a hot commodity in Hollywood.

Erykah wore her look for her appearance in Giant magazine while Fergie and Solange took to the streets to show off their love for Boxing Kitten. Alicia and Beyonce wore colorful pieces from the line for their “Put It In A Love Song” video treatment.

Great to see two of music’s biggest female celebrities rocking Ankara prints! Somewhere in the world the creator behind the line Maya A. Lake has a big smile on her face. Beyonce’s sister Solange confirmed on Twitter that the designs seen on the duo are by Boxing Kitten…

Although I would have preferred the creator at least being from West African descent it’s always great to see Hollywood take on our cultural aspect (ie. Jewel by Lisa) and introduce it to the mainstream masses.  Fashion is color blind. Honestly would you buy a outfit based on who made it or how it fits on your figure? My point exactly!
