Genevieve Nnaji Appears on CNN As Their Connector of the Day

Popular Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji’s notoriety went up another notch thanks in part to her appearance on the CNN series Connector of the Day as  I tweeted days before. CNN personally handpicked Genevieve as their Connector of the Day and opened a forum online for fans to ask any question they want Genevieve to answer. This breaking news erupted all over Twitter this past weekend since the official October 31th announcement! (No word when CNN will air Genevieve’s taped segment!)

Outfitted by Ngozi Pere-Okorotie of ZED EYE, Genevieve proved why she was coined by Oprah Winfrey – Africa’s Julia Roberts earlier this year. With grace and style, Genevieve effortlessly contributed to the mainstream’s current obsession with all things Nollywood – that is the third biggest successful film industry in the world right after America and India. (Okay let me correct myself here – Nigeria produces more films than America each year at a estimate rate of 200 per month! The booming, thriving Nollywood industry has a estimater revenue of $250 millions!) Genevieve shared behind the scenes photos of her CNN appearance on her official Facebook page. The interview was filmed on location at the CNN London Bureau center and she bought along her glam squad according to Nollywood UnCut  – Chinny Onwugbenu of M.U.D Cosmetics,  make-up artist Stacy Okafor and Zed Eye.    

Genevieve’s CNN interview left no question as how she become Africa’s biggest star AND Africa’s top earning actress since her debut in the 1998 hit Most Wanted. In fact Genevieve has went on to star in numerous successful films with Ramsey Noah, Rita Dominic, Omotola, Majid Michel, and many notable Nollywood stars before she launched her clothing line St. Genevieve, directed her first feature film Beautiful Soul and landed lucrative spokesmodel gigs with MUD and LUX.
